My name is Carole Keeling and for the past 20 years, I have been visiting dog owners having challenges/concerns with their pet's behaviour.

Communicating Leadership
The dog is a ‘domesticated’ wolf. We need to communicate with our dog in a way it would expect as part of the wolf pack and every pack must have a leader.
In our domestic situation, the dog’s pack is everyone who occupies its present home. If it is not receiving correct ‘wolf pack type’ signs/behaviour/signals, that there is a leader, it will feel it necessary to take the job on itself.
There is no way the dog can be the leader, as they can’t relate to the human experience and society (though they try very hard to).
The responsibility your dog takes on will cause it great stress, usually resulting in strange or difficult behaviour and/or a dog out of control. The more intelligent the dog, the more it needs those vital leadership signs from you and depending on the dog’s personality, the way it expresses its stress can vary.
What’s involved?
Simple lifestyle/behavioural changes in certain key situations involving your dog. These are particularly when leaving/reuniting, feeding, walking and under a perceived threat. And always being calm, consistent, patient and fair.
NO GADGETS AND NO BULLYING involved!! Good leadership isn't being 'the boss'. It's creating an environment that builds a bond and trust, which enables the dog to happily make its own 'correct' decisions.
Can this really help MY dog?
YES. This is for ALL breeds of dog, any size, any age, any background, any number in a group. All dogs deserve to be stress free and all responsible owners owe that to their dog and themselves! Once YOU know the correct communication, you have a ‘language’ for life, helping you with any interaction with any dog.

Knowing the communication from the start of the relationship, can only be a positive for both you and your dog. Advice can also be given to help you to choose the correct fit of puppy or rescue dog for your household.
